Digitization Challenges in Pakistan

TECH Pakistan believes in setting benchmarks; to not only become a symbol of trust but act as a pipeline for better and constructive initiatives to come. Our quarterly open public events are based on such thought process; where we tend to discuss the major scenarios revolving in Technology scene of Pakistan that sparks conversation and build a sense of devising integrated solutions. “Digitization Challenges in Pakistan” is one of such event, where our eminent panelist will discuss the challenges and constraints faced by the industry of Information Technology in terms of implementing innovative solutions and creating customer experiences. Mir Mohammad Ali Khan - Founder & Chairman: Mind and Markets: An internationally renowned Investment Banker, Entrepreneur & Capital Markets Advisor. At the age of 29, he became the youngest Chairman and Founder of a full service Investment Bank in America and the first Muslim to have owned an investment bank on Wall Street. He has had a successful career as Founder & Chairman: The Financial Group, Inc., Federal Advisor to Government of Pakistan, a Member of New Jersey Governors Council. He introduced Islamic Banking Research into mainstream America by co-sponsoring and advising Harvard University to launch Harvard Islamic Finance and Information Program (HIFIP). He also developed “THE World’s First Islamic Banking Benchmark Index on Wall Street Named: KMS-SAMI: (Socially Aware Muslim Index) which is now a functional index run by The Dow Jones Indices. He has also been featured in “Who’s Who of Top Executives In The World”. He has also been featured in “Humans Of Pakistan”. His personal interest is to motivate the youth around the globe, especially in Pakistan, to come up with entrepreneurial technology that could determine the future of people around the world.

Veqar Ul Islam - Director & CEO Jaffer Business System: Having worked for over 27 years in world-renowned multinationals in Pakistan and the region, Veqar has joined Jaffer Group as a Director and is heading Jaffer Business Systems and is involved in Group affairs on the Board. Veqar is an astute businessman, a high achiever and a marketer par excellence. He is also an inspirational leader, who has led his teams successfully and grown the businesses he was involved in. He is also known for his out of box approaches. Veqar has a Masters in Commerce from University of Karachi and has attended professional trainings in various parts of the world. He has always been a Top Global Talent in every multinational he was associated with. Prior to his association with Jaffer Group, Veqar has been with Comptel Corporation, Nokia Corporation, Nokia Siemens Networks and NCR Corporation at senior Executive positions in Pakistan and abroad.


Nadine Malik - CEO Asia: Jovago.com: A graduate from Bryn Mawr College, USA Nadine have started her career as a banker with Citibank Pakistan. After 4 years at Citi, she moved to France to pursue a degree in MBA at INSEAD; afterwards she joined Bain and Company in Singapore and Dubai as a management consultant for 2 years. The field of e-commerce has always interest her due to which she accepted the proposal from The Rocket to establish operations for Jovago.com in Pakistan.

Raza Matin - Marketing & Business Consultant: Google Pakistan: Raza Matin is the Marketing & Business Consultant for Pakistan and in conjunction with the remote team, is responsible for business and eco-system development in the region. Raza is focused upon driving connectedness and innovation through increases in digital adoption and awareness amongst consumers, businesses and the development of a vibrant start-up ecosystem. Prior to Google, Raza worked with large enterprises in the region as a management consultant, focusing on process automation, program and change management. A unapologetic serial entrepreneur, Raza has been previously involved in domestic startups in healthcare, retail and technology space. Raza holds an Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Queen's University in Canada.

Fakhr-e-Alam - Founder and CEO: Ezdaam: An entrepreneur and the founder of Ezdaam, an online discounts and coupon service for online buyers. He is a tech lover and is always ardent about new technologies and machines. As of now, he is running the internet start up named EzDaam a discount offering service. He is also Pursuing his childhood dream and recently acquired training and a private pilot license from United States.

Kanwal Masroor - Founder & Chairman: TECH Pakistan: A visionary leader and tech driven individual, Kanwal Masroor is a dynamic persona of Pakistan. With his undying determination and exceptional work, he has developed his own distinctive name in the tech scene of Pakistan. In a short span of time, he has founded two organizations; which includes TECH Pakistan; an organization with a mission to add value and fill the gaps in IT industry of Pakistan and a software house that provides consultancy and digital solutions to industries. He takes keen interest in the growth and development of country’s youth and playing his part by offering his services as a trainer and mentor.
